Special Photographic Competition.
ONE PRIZE OF £10,
ONE PRIZE OF £5, AND FIVE PRIZES OF £2 are offered for the best sets of Six photographs.
Each photograph of each set must appropriately illustrate a quotation to be found in "PICTURE TITLES FOR PAINTERS AND PHOTOGRAPHERS," and the quotations must be written upon the backs of the photographs.
The choice of quotations is left to the discretion of the competitor, who may devote all the six photographs to one section (Landscape, Figure, Marine, Sport and Animal Life, Architecture or Topographical), or sub-section (Gardens and Orchards, Atmospheric Effects, Fanciful, Domestic, Shipping, etc.), or each of the six may illustrate a different section or sub-section; but a different title must be used for each picture.
Every set of six photographs must be accompanied by the usual "STUDIO" coupon, properly filled in with the pseudonym, as well as the name and address of the competitor, and the pseudonym must also be written upon the back of each photograph, together with the quotation illustrated and "Picture Titles Competition."
The Editor of "THE STUDIO" reserves the right to illustrate, with the name of the photographer duly acknowledged, any or all the photographs sent in for this competition. The result will be announced in "THE STUDIO."
Photographs, which must be mounted on strong card with a margin not exceeding half an inch, to be received at the London Office of "THE STUDIO," 44, Leicester Square, not later than the last day of August, 1904.
