Selection is made on merit alone, and no payment is expected or accepted for inclusion of any artist’s work. Every effort will be made to return in due course rejected MSS., and all photographs, etc., rejected or accepted; but in no circumstances can the Editor hold himself responsible for the safe custody or return of such material. Artists and others are urged to submit photographs in the first instance, rather than originals. These should be addressed to “The Editor.” Stamps for return should always be sent, and the name and address of the sender must be clearly written on every MS., photograph, etc. All notes and articles should be typewritten. Contributions and specimens of work submitted by hand must be left for consideration for a day or two. The Editor and Editorial Staff CANNOT GIVE INTERVIEWS, except by appointment, for which some definite reason must be adduced. THE NATIONAL RADIO EXHIBITION NEW HALL OLYMPIA SEPTEMBER 22nd to 29th, 1928 OPEN POSTER COMPETITION OBJECT The object of the Competition is to obtain a design for a poster to advertise the National Radio Exhibition to be held in the New Hall, Olympia, from Sept. 22nd to 29th, 1928 --- CONDITIONS 1. Sketches (finished rough, in colour) must be full size (Double crown $30^\circ \times 20^\circ$ vertical), and must be treated with a view to reproduction by lithography in not more than 9 colours; and reduction for use as poster stamps (size $2\frac{1}{2}^\circ \times 1\frac{1}{2}^\circ$ ). 2. Designs, which must be applicable to radio, should incorporate the following wording:— “The National Radio Exhibition, Olympia, September 22nd to 29th, 11 a.m. to 10.30 p.m. Admission 1/6 daily. (Tuesday, September 25th, up to 5 p.m., 2/6). Dancing.” 3. Sketches must be sent to the Secretary, The Radio Manufacturers’ Association, Astor House, Aldwych, London, W.C.2., so as to reach him not later than May 31st, 1928. 4. Sketches will be judged by a Committee to be appointed by the R.M.A., whose decision shall be final and binding on all competitors. 5. Six prizes will be awarded as follows:— 1st PRIZE, £50; 2nd PRIZE, £25; 3rd PRIZE, £10; 4th, 5th and 6th PRIZES, £5 each. The names of the Prize Winners will be published in the “Radio Times.” 6. Entrants must write their names and addresses plainly on the backs of their sketches. 7. Entrants may send more than one sketch if they so desire. 8. The prize-winning sketches and the copyright in same shall be the property of The Radio Manufacturers’ Association. 9. Prize-winning and other selected sketches will be exhibited at The National Radio Exhibition to be held at Olympia from September 22nd to 29th, 1928. 10. The Radio Manufacturers’ Association shall not be bound to make use of the prize-winning or any of the sketches submitted. 11. No sketch will be returned unless the entrant remits with the sketch sufficient to cover cost of return postage. Sketches not claimed before December 31st, 1928, will be destroyed. 12. Entrants, by submitting sketches for the Competition, bind themselves to abide by the conditions of the Competition.
