THE FIRST International Exhibition OF Antiques AND Works of Art > The most interesting and comprehensive > collection of Antique Treasures ever gathered > under one roof AT OLYMPIA Thursday, 19th July, to Wednesday, 1st August, 1928 The Exhibition is under the direction of a committee of well-known experts and will cover the following, and other, branches of fine and applied arts: Furniture, furnishings and decorations; pictures of all kinds, books and manuscripts; porcelain, glass, bronze, silver, pewter, jewellery, lace, curios and postage stamps. DRAWING COMPETITION OPEN TO AMATEUR ARTISTS & ART STUDENTS £. 76·10 IN PRIZES OFFERED BY Conté Pencils The Prizes will be awarded for the best drawings submitted in the three classes stated below. Seven prizes are offered in each class, as follows:— 1st PRIZE £10 2nd PRIZE - £5 5 Prizes of £2 2 The subjects for competition are (A) Landscape or Seascape (B) Portrait or Figure Study (C) Still Life Studies The names and addresses of all prize-winners, with reproduction of the three first prize-winning sketches, will appear in the October issue of “The Studio.” Names and addresses will also be announced in “The Daily Mail” on September 8th, 1928. --- RULES OF COMPETITION 1. All competitors must be bona fide amateur artists. 2. For this competition, competitors must be over 14 years of age. 3. All sketches must be drawn entirely with Conté Pencils, Conté Crayons, or Conté Pastel Crayolor (either or all). 4. All sketches must be sent post paid ON OR BEFORE 25th JULY, 1928, to Conté Pencils, 13 Finsbury Square, London, E.C.2. (If sketches are to be returned, stamped addressed envelope of the necessary size must be enclosed). 5. At the back of each sketch must be attached a receipted bill for either: For Classes A & B: - 4 No. 710 Conté Pencils @ 4d. 1/4 - 4 No. 1751 ditto @ 4d. 1/4 - 3 No. 715 ditto @ 5d. 1/3 For Class C: - 1 Box No. 200 Conté Crayons 1/- - 1 Box No.755 Conté Pastels Crayolors 2/- 6.
