The paper has been especially manufactured in Italy, after an old Italian formula, being the closest approach to the ancient hand-made paper yet found. THE "DEVON" FIRE Reg No 487790 COSIEST AND BEST OF ALL Important Tests of Open Domestic Grates THE "DEVON" FIRE. Report in "LANCET," May 19th, 1906. "As a final result of the whole of the Tests, the Examiners find that of the grates submitted those of Messrs. CANDY & CO. and two other Firms are the best, showing practically equal results. The amount of coal consumed by these grates was found to be moderate in comparative proportion with temperature obtained; the fires were bright and clear." Everyone knows that an excess of smoke means bad combustion and a waste of fuel, and the report quoted from above and the results here tabulated demonstrate the wonderful efficiency and economy of the "DEVON" FIRE. But there is another point which need only be known to be appreciated. The glazed front and hearth not only add an artistic touch to a room, but nearly abolish servants' work—no blacking of grates, no polishing of fenders and whining of hearths; the fire is relaid and relighted in a moment.
