THE EDITORS DESIRE TO EXPRESS THEIR THANKS to Architects, Designers and Craftsmen whose work is represented in this volume, for the valuable assistance they have rendered in its preparation. It will be observed that the Section usually devoted to Gardens has been omitted from this issue, the space being allocated to other subjects. The importance of Garden Design is so widely recognized at the present time, and so much has recently been done at home and abroad that more space is required for an adequate survey of the subject than is possible in this book. The Publishers therefore decided to devote a Special Number of “The Studio” to Modern Garden Design — “Modern Gardens, British and Foreign” (Commentary by Percy Cane). This volume* was published a short time ago and contains 180 illustrations selected from photographs, many of which were specially taken for the purpose. A considerable number are reproduced in photogravure, while, in addition, 8 colour plates are included. *“Modern Gardens, British and Foreign.” The Studio Ltd. Wrappers, 7/6. Cloth binding, 10/6.
