He writes in a simple engaging style that should at once claim the attention of his readers, and his ready pen has depicted most attractively a large number of works of art—buildings, sculptures, frescoes, reliefs, and smaller objects of decorative art, besides many bird's-eye views, sketches and analyses of pictures, diagrams and the like.
