CURTAIN LECTURES No. 2 Bought to be Beautiful You wouldn’t be likely to buy a jug which didn’t hold water or a purse which let your money run away into the street. Then don’t buy a curtain or a covering which will let its colour run away. The colour or the pattern is your pleasure in the thing. It is what you value. It is in fact what you chose. And if the colour goes, the curtain has lost most of its meaning and you have lost most of your money. WHILE heavy overcoats dispense warmth at sacrifice of comfort, alternatively there are lighter coats which attain comfort but neglect warmth.
