Whatever the BRITISH MUSEUM and the METROPOLITAN the LOUVRE and the UFFIZI the PRADO, the EREMITAGE and the KAISER-FRIEDRICH-MUSEUM whatever treasures of art the less known small galleries and private collections contain, all of them are brought into your home by the Propyläen-Kunstgeschichte (Propylæn History of Art), the “museum in the library”, which in addition contains reproductions of the most noteworthy buildings and monuments in all parts of the world, and of the finest products of all the arts and crafts. Its 16 volumes represent the entire range of the artistic production of all times and nations, from the primitive drawings of cave-dwellers to Picasso.
