DOWN THE AGES HAVE you ever been in a great cathedral and seen a stained-glass window glowing and burning at the end of a long stone-pillared aisle? Centuries old, and yet its crimsons and blues are just what they were—richer if anything for all the ages that have passed. It’s fadeless. It was a great thing to take a lesson from the stained-glass window and bring the everlasting, fadeless colour into the curtains, the covers, and all the hangings of a woman’s dreamt-of and thought-out home.
